The Comrades Choir tour to Argentina and Patagonia is well underway and on 30th April it was a busy time for the Choristers.

In the afternoon at 3pm, they performed at the official remembrance service of the Plebiscito and brought praise from all present with their performance of the Argentine National Anthem. The event was covered by National TV and Radio. Chorister David Williams laid a wreath at the monument at the site of School 18.

In the evening their first main concert in Patagonia took place at the Club Fontana in Trevelin. The largest audience ever to attend an event here [over 1,400] gave 5 standing ovations to the Choir and the Choir were delighted that during the concert a new official Law was read out and passed giving the Choir the "Keys to Trevelin" - an honour indeed.

Today [May 1st] the Choir and partners were rewarded with an ASADO - provided by the locals. The whole touring party of 130 feasted on a specially prepared barbeque.

M.D. of Melody Music Mark Burrows was so impressed with the hospitality of the people of Trevelin towards the Choir, that during the Asado, he donated 3,000 pesos [£500] to the Eisteddfod funds towards the 2008 Eisteddfod in Patagonia.

On May 2nd, the party travel to Puerto Madryn.
